Forgot PLDT Home DSL WiFi Password?

Someone visit you at home, and ask for your WiFi password, but for some reason you forgot your "hard to guess" password. Therefore in this article I’ll show you how to know your forgotten PLDT Home DSL WiFi password. 



Note:
- For PLDT Home DSL Router user only
- Only applies to users that their device is still connected to their PLDT Home DSL Router WiFi. 

Instructions

1. Grab your device which is currently connected to your PLDT WiFi. 
2. Open your favorite browser then type this IP address 192.168.1.1. and login using the information below. 

User Name: adminpldt
Password: 1234567890

3. Go to Setup > WLAN > WPS 
4. Then you are now in WPS Page. The key from the list is your PLDT Home DSL WiFi Password.

How to Reset PLDT Home DSL Router

You may want to reset your PLDT Router for several reasons. Some reasons are

    - can't remember the administrator's password
    - can't remember the wifi password
    - connectivity issues (either with clients or with the Internet connection)

Several different router reset methods can be used depending on the situation.

Note:

When you reset your router the following settings are changed:

     - Router username and password
     - Wi-Fi username and password
     - Any portforwards you have set up
     - Any firewall settings you have made
     - Basically, any configuration changes that you have made to your router.

Instruction

1. Power on your Router. 

2. Locate, on the back of your PLDT router, the small button that reads Reset.

3. Straighten a paper clip and insert the end into the opening for the Reset button. Hold the button for 10 seconds.

4. Wait for your Power, DSL and Internet lights to activate

You can do the same method on other PLDT Plan, like PLDT MyDSL, PLDT Home Fibr, PLDT Ulter. 

How to Setup PLDT Home WiFi Repeater (Prolink PWN3701)

PLDT WiFi Repeater is essential if you want to extend or expand your Internet coverage. So, It works by receiving your existing WiFi signal from your Main Router, then amplifying it and then transmitting the boosted signal to other area which this WiFi Repeater located. So this is essential to the area where the Wi-Fi signal from your main router isn't strong enough. On this article I will show you how to set up this PLDT WiFi Repeater/Extender. 


WiFi Repeater Set Up

-Plug the WiFi Repeater into the electrical socket and power on the 
electrical socket. The Power LED on WiFi Repeater will illuminate. 
Wait until the WLAN and WPS LEDs light up. 

Setting Up A Wireless Connection. 

Thing to know:
root AP- root Access Point (Main Router you want to connect your WiFi Repeater)
PLDTHOMEREPEATER- WiFi name of your WiFi Repeater

You can use any device like android, apple device, or any device which has internet browser.

Step 1
- Go to your device settings where you can see wireless network list. From the wireless network list, Select the PLDTHOMEREPEATER WiFi then Connect. 
- Open Web Browser on your Device and Type the default IP address of your WiFi Repeater
which is 192.168.1.253 in the browser's address box. 
- You will see repeater log in box. The default username is "admin" and password is "1234"

Step 2
- Click on Quick Setup Wizard -> Start 

Step 3
Click <Next> The repeater will scan and find the available wireless network.

Step 4
- Select the wireless network or Root AP that you want to connect to and click on <Next>

Step 5 
- Key in the wireless password of the wireless router or root AP, and click on <Next> to proceed. 

Step 6 
- Check and confirm if the information are correct. Click <Finish> and the WiFi Repeater will attempt to connect to the root AP. 

After two minutes, try to browse the internet using internet browser to see if you successfully connect your PLDT WiFi Repeater to your root AP (Main Router).  

Important: Please obtain the wireless password from the owner of the wireless router or root AP. The repeater will not able to connect to the wireless router or root APif the password is incorrect. 

Note: The Signal Strength LED's will illuminate to show the link quality once connected to the root AP.

How to Find Your Routers IP Address on Android Device

1. Make sure that your device is connected to your router.
2. Go to Google Play Store, search for "Wifi Analayzer" and install the Wifi Analyzer by farproc
3. Open the Wifi Analayzer Application
4. Slide to the left twice or you can select the "Eyes" like icon and select “AP list”

5. You’ll see a “Connected to: [Network Name]” header. Tap that and a window will appear with more information about your network. You’ll find the router’s IP address to the right of “Gateway”.

How to secure your PLDT Home DSL Internet Connection

Having an unsecured wireless network can allow anyone to access your network or use your internet connection without your permission. Anyone can access your internet connection for free, play with your router settings, and the worst part is to hack your account to use for illegal activities. 

Here are the few things you should do to protect your PLDT Home DSL Internet Connection. You can also apply this on other internet connection.

1. Change Wi-Fi Default Password (Use Strong Encryption Type). Dont use WEP because it has been proven insecure and can be cracked in a few minutes using free utilities/applications that can be downloaded from the Internet. 

2. Change Router User Account Password. Aside from changing the Wi-Fi password, You should also change the user account password of your router, because someone who have access to your internet connection can enter your router settings by using router's default username and password. By changing the router's default password, you prevent allowed users to access your internet by entering the router settings. 

3. Disable Wi-Fi Broadcast SSID. This feature simply means to hide your WiFi SSID/Name. When you turn off SSID broadcast, others won’t be able to pick up the broadcast of your wireless network and this will cut off the chance for them to hack your Wi-Fi network. 

4. Restrict user access. You can restrict user access so that only specific computers/devices can access the network.

How to Block Website on your PLDT Home DSL Router

1. Connect your computer/Device to your internet.
2. Open your favorite browser and type 192.168.1.1 at the web address.

3. The ADSL Router Login Page will appear. If you havent't change any user settings to your router, with user info:

username: adminpldt
password: 1234567890  

4. Click Firewall -> URL Filter

5. Enable the "URL Blocking Capability" Option, then click Apply Changes.

6. On the keyword box, enter the keyword of the site you wish to block and click Add Keyword
 .

7. Click "Save" button to make the configuration effective forever.
